Job summary

Copeland, based in Sidney, OH, is seeking a Senior HVAC/R Systems & Field Technician to install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain HVAC/R systems and lab equipment. You will provide technical expertise in controls, data acquisition, and field applications while collaborating with engineers, customers, and cross-functional teams.

This first-shift role requires strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems, reading schematics, and experience with AutoCAD, building management systems, and data acquisition

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems, refrigeration cycles, controls, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience with commercial refrigeration, building management systems, and HVAC/R controls.
• Proficiency with data acquisition systems, instrumentation, system performance analysis, and testing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, piping diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Office, networking concepts, and communication protocols.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and customer support skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and travel as needed.
• Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, troubleshoot, and service HVAC/R systems including heat pumps, air conditioning, refrigeration equipment, compressors, display cases, and ice machines.
• Perform laboratory and field testing to evaluate HVAC/R system performance, reliability, and operational effectiveness.
• Install, configure, program, and maintain HVAC/R controls, building management systems, and refrigeration control systems.
• Set up, troubleshoot, and support communication networks, protocols, and control system connectivity, including Modbus communications.
• Configure, calibrate, and maintain data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and monitoring equipment for testing and field applications.
• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and component replacement on laboratory, facility, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
• Develop test plans, testing methods, custom test fixtures, and technical documentation to support product validation and engineering projects.
• Analyze system and test data, provide technical support and training, and collaborate with engineering, customer, and project teams to resolve issues and improve performance.
