Job summary

Copeland in Sidney, Ohio is seeking an HVAC/R mechanical technician on the second shift. You will work with product and research engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for HVAC/R systems, performing tests and operating lab equipment.

This onsite role requires a high school diploma with 3 years of experience (or equivalent), basic mechanical/electrical skills, and proficiency with MS Office. The role offers overtime potential and a shift differential of $2.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 3 years of relevant experience
• Basic mechanical, HVAC, or electrical/electronic skills
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Basic computer skills and MS Office
• Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

Responsibilities

• Follow test instructions to performance test variable speed compressors
• Set up and install compressors and test electronics
• Operate lab equipment including calorimeters, mass flow stands, data acquisition systems
• Set up variable speed drives for testing
• Fabricate test fixtures and controls for non-standard tests
• Review test data for compliance with standards
• Maintain lab upkeep
• Communicate test results and suggest process improvements
