Job summary

Savannah-Chatham County Public School System is seeking a Lead HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair commercial and residential HVAC systems across district facilities in Savannah, Georgia.

The role requires extensive HVAC experience, formal HVAC training, and the ability to coordinate with construction teams. On-call, overtime, and a strong commitment to safety are essential to ensure safe, reliable facilities for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or GED or journeyman certs in HVAC.
• 10+ years journeyman HVAC experience.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree in HVACR.
• Preferred: Four-year apprenticeship program.
• Must pass drug test and background check; valid GA driver’s license.
• Preferred: EPA HVAC Certification Type – Universal.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical connections, contactors, relays and safety controls.
• Test, repair and replace HVAC equipment and pumps.
• Coordinate with construction teams to install systems.
• Maintain inventory and document procedures.
• Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams for installation.
