Job summary

University of Oklahoma is seeking an HVAC Journeyman to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and operate central plant systems ensuring safe and efficient university facilities.

The role involves diagnosing centrifugal, screw, and reciprocating chillers, boilers, chillers, AHUs, VAV, BAS, and related equipment while working independently or on a team. Regular on-call is required every other month.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, Vo-Tech or Trade School Certification.
• 24 months refrigeration experience.
• Current State of Oklahoma HVAC License.
• Federal EPA refrigeration certification.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and install commercial and industrial HVAC equipment and systems.
• Diagnose and repair chillers, cooling towers, boilers, and AHUs and related controls.
• Maintain and troubleshoot hydronic heating/cooling systems (pumps, piping, valves).
• Diagnose and repair HVAC electrical, electronic, and DDC systems.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and BAS diagrams and operate BAS to monitor equipment.
• Respond to emergency calls to minimize downtime and maintain facility operations.
