Job summary
Daikin Applied, the world's largest HVAC company, is seeking a Sr. Development Engineer - Screw Compressors in Staunton, VA or Plymouth, MN onsite.
You will lead development of primary systems for commercial HVAC equipment, focusing on large tonnage compressors; collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product releases and mentor juniors. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Engineering and 7+ years of related experience, with expertise in thermodynamics, modeling (MATLAB/ANSYS), PLM
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- 7+ years of related experience.
- Experience developing and testing compressors for hydraulic applications.
- Hands-on testing of electro-mechanical equipment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of PLM tools and DOE/DFMEA/DVP&R.
Responsibilities
- Develop Daikin Compressors products (screw) of significant complexity.
- Develop test plans and perform testing of components, subsystems, and total systems.
- Work cross-functionally with design, test, manufacturing, sales and supply chain to ensure product design meets business needs.
- Drive the execution of the new product development phase-gate process, demonstrating design maturity.
- Technical ownership of sub-system or system designs and act as technical lead for programs.
- Drive innovation around tools and product design.
