Job summary

Century Mechanical Holdings is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician with strong refrigeration skills to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and commercial HVAC systems along with commercial refrigeration equipment.

The role requires hands-on experience, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to customer service while complying with EPA regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years hands-on HVAC service experience.
• Commercial refrigeration troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems, components, and controls.
• Experience servicing walk-in coolers, freezers, and other commercial refrigeration equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues independently.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Experience with ServiceTitan or similar field service software preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Service air conditioning units, heat pumps, furnaces, rooftop units (RTUs), and split systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair commercial refrigeration equipment, including walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, reach-in refrigerators, and ice machines.
• Diagnose and repair compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, motors, and electrical components.
• Perform refrigerant leak detection, pressure testing, evacuation, and refrigerant charging.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, controls, thermostats, and refrigeration components.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Identify equipment issues and recommend necessary repairs or replacements.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment issues, repairs, and recommendations.
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation.
• Ensure all work complies with EPA regulations, local codes, and company safety standards.
