Job summary

Lubbock County seeks a Master HVAC/R technician to supervise shop personnel and oversee daily prioritization and assignment of ongoing HVAC projects. You will manage routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance, while coordinating with engineers and contractors to ensure high-quality service.

Responsibilities include leading teams, reviewing work orders, creating training modules, and developing budgets. A valid Texas driver’s license is required for this role.

Qualifications

• High school graduation and 10 years of experience with HVAC/R related systems.
• Minimum 5 years of direct supervision experience on multiple jobs or projects.
• Texas Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily prioritization and assignment of HVAC projects.
• Supervise shop personnel and coordinate with engineers and contractors.
• Review and document work orders; track assets and hours charged to jobs.
• Assist in designing HVAC/R projects using blueprints and manufacturer specs.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for project work and quality control.
• Establish and maintain preventative and routine maintenance programs for all HVAC/R equipment.
• Oversee adjustment of computerized set points for efficiency and comfort.
• Test, install, troubleshoot, service and modify HVAC/R equipment and controls.
• Develop training modules and schedule ongoing education for staff.
• Prepare annual Operations & Maintenance and 5-year capital budgets for HVAC/R needs.
