Job summary

Jobot is seeking a permanent Mechanical Construction Estimator with a strong background in HVAC and pipe fitting to join our Baltimore-Washington DC area team. You will estimate mechanical projects up to $10 million, coordinating with project teams to ensure accurate bids and proposals.

A Journeyman license and trade school education are required, with 5+ years in the field and office settings. Salary ranges from $95,000 to $165,000 per year, with bonuses and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering office and field experience in the contracting industry.
• Trade school education in a relevant field.
• A valid Journeyman License.
• Extensive knowledge of the Baltimore and Washington DC area.
• Proven conceptual estimating experience up to $10 million.
• Experience with Quote Soft estimating software.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Utilize HVAC and pipe fitting knowledge to develop comprehensive, detailed estimates for mechanical construction projects.
• Apply knowledge of the Baltimore and Washington DC area to assess feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
• Leverage conceptual estimating experience to develop strategies for project execution and cost-saving.
• Coordinate with the project team to transition from bid to proposal, ensuring all specs and timelines are captured.
• Use Quote Soft estimating software to prepare cost estimates and analyze data for cost benefits.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand scope and challenges.
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure accurate cost estimation.
