Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Service Specialist III, Mechanical Technician to install, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems. You will interpret blueprints and schematics, perform complex diagnostics, and ensure safe, efficient operation across RTUs, split, ductless, chillers, boilers, and related equipment.

You will use tools like multimeters and leak detectors, manage preventative maintenance, and handle refrigerants per EPA rules.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of commercial HVAC/R experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC systems and equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to perform advanced HVAC troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
• Strong mechanical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, along with basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Install commercial and industrial HVAC systems according to specifications, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Interpret system layouts, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate installation and operation.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting on commercial and industrial HVAC equipment.
• Diagnose system malfunctions using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Repair or replace HVAC components, including motors, fans, thermostats, compressors, pumps, and related equipment.
• Connect electrical wiring, line sets, and ductwork as required.
• Perform preventive and routine maintenance, including cleaning, filter replacement, refrigerant checks, and control calibration.
• Service a variety of HVAC equipment, including RTUs, split systems, ductless systems, pumps, fans, chillers, boilers, and refrigeration equipment.
• Safely use diagnostic and service tools, including multimeters, pressure gauges, leak detectors, and brazing equipment.
• Handle refrigerants in accordance with EPA regulations.
• Follow OSHA and Schneider Electric safety standards.
• Maintain accurate service records, including work performed, repairs completed, and parts used.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment performance, service needs, and potential energy-efficiency improvements.
• Respond to emergency service calls and participate in off-hours service coverage as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
