Encon Heating & AC in Stratford, CT is seeking a Senior HVAC Technician to deliver expert service, maintenance, installation, and diagnostics on complex commercial systems. You will lead projects, mentor technicians, and ensure safety, quality, and compliance.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of HVAC experience, EPA Universal Certification, and the ability to read blueprints, troubleshoot, and communicate clearly with clients and teammates.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of HVAC service and/or installation experience.
• Proficiency with chillers, boilers, VRF/VRV, and complex control systems.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Technical school or trade certification preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret commercial blueprints, plans, and control schematics.
• Exceptional diagnostic skills and ability to resolve complex system issues independently.
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer-service abilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain complex commercial HVAC systems.
• Lead advanced troubleshooting and major component replacements.
• Perform commercial system installations, start-ups, commissioning, and retrofits.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and recommend system improvements and lifecycle upgrades.
• Ensure safety, quality, and compliance with OSHA and local codes.
• Provide coaching and on-the-job training to junior technicians.
• Collaborate with dispatch, project managers, and estimators on planning.
• Build strong client relationships and communicate findings clearly.
• Document service reports, time entries, and parts usage.
• Maintain company tools and service vehicle in safe condition.
