Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ICC Mechanical inspector certification or State licensed HVAC certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and related codes.
• Ability to read and interpret HVAC plans and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Inspect new, additions and alterations of residential and commercial construction for compliance with codes.
• Issue notices of correction and stop-work orders when needed.
• Perform plan reviews of diagrams, plans and specs to ensure compliance.
• Maintain files and reports on inspection activities and findings.
• Testify in court as necessary and coordinate with Building Official.

Education

Associate degree or 2-year technical degree in related field

Vocational training in HVAC/mechanical systems
