Job summary

Compu Dynamics is seeking a Field Service Technician 2, HVAC to service and maintain critical cooling systems across customer sites in the Chantilly, VA region. You will diagnose, repair, and optimize chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units, humidification, and controls, while mentoring junior technicians and supporting the Field Superintendent.

The role requires 5+ years of field HVAC experience, EPA 608 Universal certification, OSHA 10, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of field/installation experience in commercial HVAC systems, including on-site independent work.
• EPA 608 Universal certification required; NATE or manufacturer certifications preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with data center or critical environment cooling strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute the most complex service scopes independently; sequence multi‑day and multi‑trade work.
• Provide expert diagnostics and repair on complex mechanical plant including chillers and cooling units.
• Set on‑site quality example; ensure work meets codes and specifications before closeout.
• Support other technicians on difficult jobs and mentor junior techs on-site.
• Document work thoroughly to support accurate billing and future visits.
• Maintain safety and compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
