Job summary

Modigent is seeking a senior Service Estimator III for HVAC to independently prepare complex, profitable pricing proposals for service, repair, maintenance, retrofit, and replacement projects. You will lead estimating efforts, review scopes, and ensure compliance with contract standards.

You will mentor junior estimators, collaborate with service technicians, project managers, and sales teams, and help optimize pricing strategies while maintaining high accuracy and customer focus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HVAC service estimating experience.
• High school diploma or GED; technical training or degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; EPA 608 certification strongly preferred.
• Hybrid work environment with safety on active job sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of complex and competitive cost estimates and pricing proposals for HVAC service, repair, maintenance, retrofit, and unit replacement projects.
• Review job site assessments to develop accurate scopes of work, material lists, and labor requirements.
• Ensure proposals and estimates comply with contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies.
• Collaborate with Service Technicians, Project Managers, and Sales to refine estimates and advise on feasibility and pricing.
• Build relationships with customers and vendors to secure pricing and material availability.
• Produce professional proposals using Outlook, Word, and Excel and maintain records.
• Mentor junior estimators and share best practices to improve processes.
• Review and validate estimates for large or high-value projects before submission.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and margin enhancement.
