Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) to lead design for complex HVAC systems in K-12, municipal, commercial, government, and data center projects. You will mentor engineers and manage projects from concept through construction.

The role requires a PE license or ability to obtain Virginia licensure, a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, and 8+ years of HVAC design experience in an MEP environment. Hybrid work and strong benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of HVAC design experience in an MEP consulting environment.
• PE license (or ability to obtain Virginia licensure immediately).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience with K-12, commercial, municipal, government, healthcare, or data center projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC and mechanical system design, including calculations, equipment selection, and construction documents.
• Manage projects from planning through construction administration, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule goals are met.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver engineering solutions.
• Oversee bidding support, RFIs, submittals, commissioning activities, and field coordination.
• Mentor junior engineers, perform quality reviews, and provide technical leadership across projects.
