NY Building Systems Consultant Inc. is seeking a Senior HVAC Engineer for its New York City office to join a design and build team.

The role involves leading HVAC design including heating, cooling, ventilation, and building automation, with a focus on energy efficiency. The candidate should have 4+ years of HVAC design experience, a mechanical engineering degree, and is encouraged to pursue PE, LEED AP, and Revit credentials.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Load calculations and energy modeling for projects.

• Prepare contract drawings detailing designed systems using AutoCAD.

• Manage small projects and liaise with clients.

NY Building Systems Consultant Inc. (NYBSC) is a Professional Engineering and Energy Consulting Company. It was formed by industry professionals that each has a more than 10 years’ experience. NYBSC Energy and Engineering team is comprised of individuals with complete industry certifications including NYS & CTS Registered Professional Engineers (PE), Existing Building Commissioning Professional (EBCP), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) and Certified Energy Manager (CEM).

Experience

• Load calculations and some Energy modeling experience
• Design mechanical systems including: heating, cooling, heat rejection, air and water distribution, ventilation, air conditioning, building automation and controls.
• Familiarity with codes, specifically NYCECC, CMR, IMC, ASHRAE standards 55, 62.1, 90.1
• Familiar with LL97, LL87, energy auditing and commissioning.
• Prepare contract drawings detailing the designed systems using AutoCAD.
• Select equipment for use in building systems.
• Manage a small project, work area or technical skill set, monitor quality of work, and is involved in client liaison.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a sound knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
• 4+ years of experience in commercial and residential HVAC design.
• PE License preferred.
• LEED AP preferred.Experience in Revit preferred.
• Proven interest in the field of building design and energy savings.
