Job summary

VHV Company is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead mechanical design for commercial projects, serving as Engineer of Record on complex design-build efforts. Responsibilities include ensuring code compliance, design accuracy, and constructability from concept to completion.

The role requires extensive HVAC/piping knowledge, a BS in mechanical engineering, and a PE or plan to obtain one within two years. Proficiency with Revit/AutoCAD is preferred and leadership across multiple projects is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• PE license or ability to obtain PE within two years.
• Minimum ten years of related experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC and piping trades and design.
• Proficiency with Revit or AutoCAD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs from field input and documentation.
• Design steam, hot water, chilled water, and plumbing systems through construction docs.
• Review and approve design work to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Perform heat loss/gain, sizing, and equipment selection analyses.
• Prepare drawings and specifications for mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Provide leadership and respond to RFIs and field challenges.
• Develop engineering proposals including scope, concepts, and cost estimates.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for contract conformance.
• Coordinate engineering activities to meet schedule and budget.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians.
• Maintain documentation and ensure PE licensure compliance.
