Job summary

Armstrong Fluid Technology is seeking a Senior Application Engineer (HVAC) to provide expert-level support for commercial and institutional HVAC projects across the United States. You will lead complex applications, optimize systems, and drive value engineering while collaborating with Sales, consultants, contractors, and customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial HVAC, hydronic systems, central plants, pumping systems, heat exchangers, and controls.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, P&IDs, equipment schedules, and control schematics.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineered projects with customer-facing technical discussions.
• Experience mentoring engineers and collaborating with Sales, consultants, and contractors.
• Professional credentials such as PE, ASHRAE or similar are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for complex HVAC applications and system design.
• Lead development of high-value, technically complex opportunities from concept through project conversion.
• Develop energy-efficient, value-engineered solutions focusing on performance and lifecycle costs.
• Provide guidance on central heating/cooling plants, pumping systems, and controls.
• Engage with Sales, representatives, consultants, contractors, and customers in design reviews and workshops.
• Drive process improvements, standardization, and best practices in application engineering.
• Mentor and develop Application Engineers and support the Armstrong Graduate Program.
