Job summary

Phase X Engineering, a leader in power engineering, seeks a Senior Transmission Engineer to drive high-voltage line projects from concept to construction. You’ll master line modeling, structure loading, and plan and profile development while mentoring engineers across disciplines.

You will act as the primary technical contact with clients and utilities, ensuring designs meet standards (NESC/ASCE/IEEE) and coordinating with substation teams for seamless integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in transmission line engineering or power delivery engineering with increasing technical responsibility.
• Proven ability to lead complex, multi-discipline HV transmission projects from kickoff through construction.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience presenting to clients and leading technical meetings.
• Expert-level proficiency with transmission design software including PLS CADD, PLS Pole, and PLS Tower.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering execution for HV transmission line projects, including scope definition and quality oversight.
• Develop and review advanced transmission line models using PLS CADD for design and planning.
• Lead structure design and foundation analysis with internal teams; sign-off on deliverables.
• Serve as primary technical liaison with clients, utilities, and regulators; lead meetings and design reviews.
• Author, review, and approve engineering deliverables (drawings, BOMs, loading reports, specs).
• Coordinate with substation group to ensure proper integration at terminations and interfaces.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers; provide QA reviews and feedback.
• Support site visits, field reviews, and construction; address field conditions and deviations.
