Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Transmission Design Engineer to lead design efforts for 69kV–765kV lines and mentor junior staff in a hybrid work environment requiring in-office presence three days per week.

Candidates should have 12+ years of transmission design experience, strong PLS-CADD skills, and deep knowledge of NESC, IEC, IEEE, and ANSI standards, with demonstrated client collaboration on large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering BS degree required.
• 12 years of transmission design experience.
• 3+ years in 500kV and/or 765kV transmission line design.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software.
• Experience working directly with clients on transmission lines 69kV–765kV.
• Knowledge of NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Experience reviewing design drawings created by others.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of transmission lines from 69kV to 765kV.
• Serve as subject matter specialist for 500kV/765kV lines.
• Mentor and train less experienced design team members.
• Coordinate design activities to ensure compliance with specifications and client requirements.
• Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information clearly and meeting client needs and S&L formats.
• Perform independent reviews of work including calculations and models in PLS-CADD.
