Job summary

Primoris Power Solutions, LLC is seeking a Senior Transmission Engineer to lead high-voltage transmission design up to 500 kV. The role focuses on line routing, structure selection, and comprehensive deliverables utilizing PLS software.

The engineer will guide drafting teams, ensure schedule adherence, and produce construction drawings, specifications, and verifications. A PE license and 7+ years of HV experience are required, with strong communication across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• PE registration required.
• At least 7+ years’ experience designing and engineering transmission lines between 69kV and 500kV.
• Proficient in PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole and PLS-Tower.
• Knowledge of MFAD, LPILE, and NESC requirements as well as NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and RUS design standards.
• Fast-paced office environment; must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management while simultaneously managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively.
• Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering deliverables for electric transmission projects, including line routing and structure design.
• Coordinate with drafting/design team members to meet design schedules.
• Develop construction drawings, material selections, and loading packages for submittal to vendors.
• Provide direction and guidance to drafters and designers and lead project meetings.
• Prepare design criteria, reports, and verification calculations for PLS tools.
