Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Protection and Control Engineer to lead protection and control activities for high-voltage substations across AES Clean Energy projects, with voltages from 35 kV to 500 kV.

You will collaborate with EPCs, utilities, and internal teams, review protection schemes, relay settings, and coordination studies, and mentor junior engineers while traveling about 25% to site locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in power systems.
• Minimum 5 years of protection and control engineering experience for HV substations or renewable facilities.
• Experience with SEL protection and automation products is required.
• Familiarity with IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus and substation automation applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead protection and control engineering for AES Clean Energy HV substations (35 kV–500 kV).
• Review protection philosophies, relay settings, and coordination studies across projects.
• Coordinate with EPCs, utilities, and internal teams to ensure compliance and quality.
