Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to guide HV substation design from 230kV through 345kV. You will serve as EOR, lead project delivery, mentor engineers, and drive technical excellence across regional offices.

The role requires strong leadership, a PE license, and 15 years of related experience. Travel to multiple offices and client sites is expected as part of a dynamic power & energy practice.

Qualifications

• 15 years of related experience in electrical power and substation disciplines.
• Professional Engineer license required for practice.
• BS in Electrical/Electronic engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, execution and delivery of HV substation projects 230kV–345kV.
• Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) and technical authority for physical design.
• Manage teams, mentor staff, and support business growth and client service.
• Oversee budgets, schedules, resources, and quality adherence.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across offices and clients.
