Job Description Overview
As a Senior Human Resources Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of HR operations. You will create policies and procedures, ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, and work to foster a positive company culture. Your goal is to embrace the employee lifecycle and create a work environment that attracts, retains, and motivates top talent. Your day-to-day job duties will include recruiting, onboarding, and training new employees, as well as handling high level employee relations issues, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. You will oversee benefits and compensation packages and develop strategies to improve employee retention and satisfaction. You'll also work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support the company's goals and objectives. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in HR management, talent reviews, succession planning with excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of employment law (including CA).
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide thought leadership and support on people and organizational issues: collectively, directly and through matrix management throughout the organization, leveraging resources, programs and tools to achieve desired outcomes
• Actively participate with senior leaders to advise on people and organization impact of business plans and decisions; ensure that change and transformation plans are effectively executed
• Conduct HR and Loss Prevention investigations, including Title VII complaints, and prepare objective investigative overview consistent with company investigative processes; respond to EEOC as deemed necessary.
• Implement strategies that improve employee engagement year over year, as measured through the continuous listening process
• Analyze HR metrics around attrition to identify business opportunities working with leadership to develop and implement solutions to drive retention
• Drive talent management and succession planning activities within each business unit
• Proactively partner with the business and HR partners in Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development to implement strategies to strengthen or fill gaps, as needed, to ensure a ready now talent pipeline
• Deploy appropriate retention strategies to promote organizational stability
• Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related issues, such as performance management, performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions, and employee relations
• Conduct research and analysis on HR best practices and trends to ensure the organization remains competitive and compliant with laws and regulations.
• Lead and facilitate training sessions and workshops that enhance the soft skills and knowledge of employees and managers, reinforcing leadership competencies
• Develop and analyze HR metrics and reports to assess the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives • Manage compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain top talent and ensure equitable treatment of employees.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to HR practices, such as EEO, FMLA, and ADA.
• Represent the company at unemployment hearings and depositions, as necessary Education and Experience • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• 10+ years HR Generalist experience in retail and/or corporate environments
• Tech Savvy to include Microsoft Office products, PowerPoint, ADP, with a high degree of accuracy and detail • Comfort with most HR disciplines (employee relations, compensation, benefits, organizational design, talent management, talent acquisition, FML, ADA)
• High level of personal and professional integrity and ethics (authentic, compassionate, genuine and honest); good communicator; good listening skills and problem solver
• Strong business orientation, drive for results, and desire to win
• Ability to assess situations and analyze data to make judgments and recommend talent solutions • Understanding of concepts and procedures specific to own subject areas
• Multi-unit and Multi State experience highly preferred Essential Physical and Sensory Functions
• Must be able to sit in front of a computer for long periods of time
• Must have the ability to use a computer, mouse, keyboard, telephone, cellphone, and other equipment typically found in an office or call center environment
• While performing the duties of the job, the Team Member is regularly required to communicate effectively with other Team Member’s, vendors, and customers within the organization
