Job summary

HR On Demand brokers this opportunity for a Senior HR Manager or HR Director to lead the HR function at our client’s Katy, TX facility, owning talent acquisition, workforce planning, employee relations, compliance, and culture.

The ideal candidate has hands-on HR leadership experience supporting hourly production and technician roles in manufacturing, with strong conflict resolution and clear communication from shop floor to executive level, and comfort working in a global, multinational setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8–12+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3–5+ years in an HR leadership or management role.
  • Prior HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, directly supporting an hourly, production, or technician workforce.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and Texas state employment law (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII).
  • Proven experience leading employee relations, workforce planning, and HR compliance.
  • Solid conflict resolution skills, with a demonstrated ability to de-escalate and resolve disputes between employees, technicians, and management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust and communicate clearly across all levels of the organization, from the shop floor to executive leadership.
  • Experience managing and developing an HR team.
  • Strong HRIS experience and a data-driven approach to HR decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior HR leader for the site, partnering with site and corporate leadership to build and execute a people strategy aligned with business goals
  • Oversee full-cycle HR operations, including workforce planning, recruiting support, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding
  • Lead employee relations matters and workplace investigations, providing guidance to managers on performance, conduct, and policy issues
  • Own HR compliance for the site, including federal and Texas state employment law, EEO requirements, and required reporting
  • Partner with corporate Compensation & Benefits and Talent Acquisition teams to ensure competitive, compliant programs are delivered locally
  • Lead workforce planning and organizational design to support production and headcount growth
  • Drive culture, engagement, and retention initiatives tailored to a manufacturing workforce
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of HR generalists/coordinators
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity and use HR metrics/analytics to inform leadership decisions
  • Support organizational change initiatives, restructuring, or site growth projects as needed

Role Overview

This role is open to a Senior HR Manager or HR Director to lead the Human Resources function at our client´s Katy, TX facility. Exact title and level will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience. This role owns the full HR function for the site — talent acquisition and workforce planning, employee relations, compliance, and culture/engagement — partnering closely with site and corporate leadership to build an HR strategy that supports a growing manufacturing and operations organization.

The ideal candidate is a well-rounded HR leader with direct, hands-on experience supporting an hourly, production, and technician workforce in a manufacturing setting. This is a must-have — the role requires solid conflict resolution skills and strong communication to navigate employee relations issues on the floor, while also operating strategically with site and corporate leadership. Comfort working within a global, multinational organization is also important.
