Job summary

Strategic Employment Partners (SEP) is hiring a Senior Manager, People Operations in Beverly Hills, CA. You will own the full HR function, acting as the primary partner to employees, managers, and leadership, handling onboarding, offboarding, payroll, benefits, employee relations, and CA compliance as the company scales.

This is a hands-on, individual-contributor HR role with room to shape policy and processes as headcount grows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in HR with growing scope
• Deep knowledge of CA and federal employment law
• Experience running employee relations cases and workplace investigations
• End-to-end payroll and benefits administration experience
• Experience directing outside recruiting vendors and coaching managers

Growing athleisure brand is hiring a Senior Manager, People Operations to own the full HR function as the company scales. You'll be the primary HR partner to employees, managers, and leadership, running everything from onboarding to offboarding while building the compliance backbone and people processes that let the business grow without breaking. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor HR seat, not a team-lead role: you're the SME on payroll, benefits, employee relations, and California compliance, with room to shape policy and process as headcount grows.

Term: Full Time, Direct Hire

Location: Beverly Hills, CA, USA

Desired Qualifications:

• 5+ years in HR, with a track record of taking on more scope over time
• Deep fluency in CA and federal employment law — this isn't a "look it up" level of knowledge, it's applied daily
• Has personally run employee relations cases and workplace investigations, not just observed them
• Has owned payroll and benefits administration end-to-end, including systems like iSolved or equivalent HRIS
• Experience directing outside recruiting vendors and shaping how they're used
• Known for coaching managers well — performance conversations, policy calls, hard feedback
• Genuinely energized by early-stage/scaling environments, not just tolerant of them
