Job summary

Reebelo is seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to own the day-to-day people function for 50+ employees globally, reporting directly to the founders. You’ll manage onboarding, offboarding, payroll, benefits, recruitment, and employee support across jurisdictions.

Working in a lean, globally distributed team and a flexible hybrid setup (1 day in San Mateo per week), you’ll streamline processes, ensure compliance, and partner with external advisors to scale our people operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in a HR Generalist role.
• Experience with Rippling or similar HRIS is a significant advantage.
• You can handle difficult conversations with discretion and professionalism.
• Exceptional organizational skills in a solo-operator environment.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple time zones with a globally distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Own onboarding and offboarding end-to-end, including contracts, right-to-work, access, final pay, benefits administration.
• Drive team engagement and connect a globally distributed workforce.
• Lead end-to-end recruitment: job ads, sourcing, screening, interviews, references, offers.
• Manage employee relations and sensitive conversations; escalate when needed.
• Ensure statutory compliance across jurisdictions with deadlines.
• Provide founder support with headcount and cost data and board input.

About the role

In this exciting role you’ll be the sole owner of the day-to-day People function for 50+ global team — people operations, payroll, recruitment, and employee support — working directly with the founders. You’ll inherit a well-documented foundation: a global HRIS (Rippling), a documented payroll and compliance calendar with per-country runbooks, and established external providers and advisors.

What you’ll do

• People operations: own onboarding and offboarding end-to-end (contracts, right-to-work, systems access, final pay, benefits administration including US open enrollment and leave, records, and verification letters).
• Team Engagement: find creative and exciting ways to connect our globally distributed team.
• Recruitment: run the full lifecycle — job ads, sourcing, LinkedIn applicant review, screening, interview coordination, ATS data integrity, references, and offers.
• Employee relations & difficult conversations: act as first point of contact for all employee matters; support performance conversations, exits, and separation agreement negotiations across jurisdictions with maturity and discretion, escalating to external counsel where needed.
• Compliance in a global setup: execute statutory obligations per jurisdiction to hard deadlines.
• Founder support: people reporting, headcount and cost data, and quarterly board input preparation.

• You can hold difficult conversations with judgment and discretion — performance, exits, sensitive employee matters.
• Extreme organisation and follow-through in a solo-operator environment with minimal supervision; you document as you go and know when to pull in external experts.
• Comfort working across time zones with a globally distributed team.
