Job summary

Goddard Technologies, Inc. in Wilmington, MA is seeking a Senior Human Factors Engineer with 5+ years of experience in product development for medical devices.

You will design, test, document, and launch products with a focus on usability across software, hardware, and fluidic interfaces. You will collaborate across a diverse team, apply HF methods, support risk analyses, and ensure regulatory compliance while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of human factors/usability engineering experience.
• Experience working in the medical device industry and regulatory practices.
• Strong communicator, creative thinker and team player.
• Flexible to take on additional responsibilities in a growing team.
• Advocate for patient/customer value in medical device usability.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a patient/customer advocate to deliver safe, effective, easy-to-use products.
• Support ergonomic and usability requirements for new products and extensions.
• Represent HF/usability on core project teams.
• Apply a range of HFE research methods (task analysis, usability studies, etc.).
• Analyze data to inform design decisions and risk analyses.
• Contribute to UI design guidance across software, hardware, and interfaces.
• Create URRAs/UFMEs/UEAs to inform design and use environments.
• Support regulatory filings with HF documentation and analyses.
• Understand HF standards (ANSI/AAMI/ISO 14971, 62366, etc.).
• Travel as needed (valid driver's license and vehicle).
