Job summary

MANTECH seeks a Senior Hull Mechanical Technician for its JEB Little Creek facility in Virginia Beach, VA. This onsite role focuses on troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of boat systems, including hull, propulsion, HVAC, and associated equipment, in support of DoD/Navy programs.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of DoD or Navy experience, familiarity with drawings, and the ability to work across teams. Active Secret clearance is required; relocation and travel may be limited to Norfolk area.

Qualifications

• 4+ years DoD or Navy engineering, maintenance, or technical programs.
• Ability to read and validate drawings, schematics, engineering change docs, and specs.
• Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing complex mechanical or networked systems.
• Familiar with fleet support processes, maintenance data systems, and modernization programs.
• Active Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair boat systems and equipment at waterfront locations.
• Conduct boat surveys, inspections, and system validation testing.
• Update technical documentation and support vessel availabilities/overhauls.
• Ensure configuration control and lifecycle data accuracy per program standards.
• Support shipboard installations and integration testing; participate in validation events.
