Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Portland, OR is seeking a Sr. HTS Classification Specialist to support US/Canada tariff classifications across DTNA’s operations. The role collaborates with the HTS Classification Manager to determine rulings and provides data for complex customs decisions.

The position emphasizes accuracy per U.S. and Canadian regulations, ongoing training, and cross‑team collaboration within a global compliance network.

Qualifications

• BS/BA with 3 years related experience; OR an Associate's degree and 4 years related experience; OR 6 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
• Strong organizational, analytical and research skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• The ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficiency in Microsoft Access

Responsibilities

• Gather product information from multiple sources and maintain documentation necessary to support accurate tariff classifications and Customs ruling request as needed.
• Provide tariff numbers and certain PGA compliance data for clearance of import shipments.
• Assist HTS team members with post entry auditing of tariff classifications.
• Maintain Participating Government Agency (PGA) product database and transmit updates to broker.
• Research, prepare and provide PGA-related data and documents such as bearing worksheets to brokers for customs clearance.
