Job summary

NextDecade is seeking a Sr. Manager, Project HSSE in Brownsville, TX, to lead HSSE execution across construction, commissioning, startup and early operations.

You will partner with the EPC contractor and Owners E&C site team, ensuring energy-based safety, hazardous energy controls, and regulatory compliance are embedded throughout CSU and transition to operations. The role requires strong leadership, risk management, and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams, with focus on SIMOPS, PTW,

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, CSP or equivalent.
• 15+ years of leadership experience, including HSSE leadership on large projects.
• Experience leading HSSE activities during commissioning, startup or transition to operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure HSSE compliance with EPC and Owners teams.
• Lead HSSE programs from construction through CSU.
• Interface with regulatory, permitting and environmental teams.
• Lead HSSE auditing and performance reporting.
• Drive energy control and high-consequence risk management across site activities.
