Job summary
Firefly Aerospace, Inc. seeks a Propulsion Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead fabrication, integration, test, and delivery of engines and fluid systems at Briggs, TX.
The role owns production processes from design release to flight-ready hardware, driving quality, reliability, and efficiency. The ME team embarks on challenging propulsion projects, with opportunities to shape manufacturing strategies, lead process improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced space
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineer role.
- Experience with complex assemblies in aerospace/aviation/automotive industries.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions.
- Experience with complex troubleshooting.
- Experience in dynamic, evolving environments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methods.
Responsibilities
- Lead transition of products from development to production.
- Own fabrication, assembly, and checkout procedures for propulsion subassemblies and engines.
- Drive continuous process development to increase production rate and reduce cost.
- Lead investigations of process failures to root cause.
- Develop and qualify new production processes.
- Participate in design reviews and provide manufacturing feedback.
- Develop assembly instructions and support continuous improvement.
- Dispositon non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct manufacturability reviews and design improvements.
