Job summary

The Walsh Group, Ltd. seeks an HSE Specialist II for our Transportation Division in LaPorte, IN. This role coordinates, implements and monitors health, safety and environmental processes across complex projects, providing training and guidance to elevate EHS performance.

Spanning travel to various sites, the position emphasizes incident investigations, program coordination with subcontractors, and continuous process improvements to reduce risk and losses.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in construction safety.
• CHST preferred and OSHA 30-hour preferred.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct periodic EHS assessments and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide training on EHS requirements and safety practices.
• Coordinate subcontractor EHS protocols and manage project safety plans.
• Conduct incident investigations and prepare reports for PM review.
• Oversee industrial hygiene protocols and environmental monitoring.
• Administer drug-free workplace testing and related programs.
• Lead project-level EHS orientation and weekly safety updates.
• Support SPAT processes on assigned projects.
