Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Company is seeking a Senior HSE Specialist for our McCalla, AL facility. This role partners with plant leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, reduce risk, drive continuous improvement, and strengthen the site's safety culture.

You will lead site health, safety, and environmental programs, provide technical expertise on OSHA, EPA, and ADEM requirements, and mentor HS&E staff to build ownership and accountability for performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ADEM, and related regulations.
• Experience leading incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Experience supervising employees or cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and continuous improvement of site health, safety, and environmental programs.
• Partner with plant leadership to execute HS&E strategy and compliance initiatives.
• Provide technical expertise on OSHA, EPA, ADEM, and company requirements.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
• Analyze safety and environmental performance metrics and drive improvements.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards.
