Jefferson County is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner – Compensation & Classification to lead complex compensation research, benchmarking, and classification projects. You will translate data into actionable recommendations balancing market competitiveness with internal equity.

The role requires strong analytical judgment, collaboration with leaders, and the ability to influence pay decisions in a transparent, compliant manner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Three (3) years of compensation experience, including interpreting and implementing compensation policies, procedures, classification structures, and applicable employment laws and regulations.
• Five or more years of compensation experience preferred; SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR, or CCP certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research, benchmarking, market pricing, and compensation analysis for positions and job families.
• Develop, review, edit, and refine classification specifications and position descriptions.
• Advise leaders and HR professionals on compensation practices, market data, and salary structures.
• Ensure internal equity and alignment with compensation philosophy and policies.
