Job summary

Northwestern Mutual is seeking a senior HR leader to partner with the ELT and VPs to shape strategic HR initiatives that align with business goals. You will steer organizational design, talent management, and workforce planning while guiding change management across large-scale transformations.

As a trusted advisor, you will collaborate with business leaders to deliver HR programs, influence at all levels, and drive engagement and performance during periods of growth or transition.

Qualifications

• 10 years of HR experience including a Bachelor’s degree.
• Masters degree preferred.
• Experience in workforce planning, change management, organizational design, talent management, performance management and strategic/operational planning.
• Strong business acumen and ability to contribute to the business strategy.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with business leaders to develop, implement and sustain HR programs.
• Excellent consultative, interpersonal/influencing skills; ability to build rapport at all levels.
• Strong problem solving, facilitation and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Align priorities and work for the ELT member and/or function.
• Oversee/coordinate strategic work for the ELT member.
• Manage HR leads in the function being supported.
• Provide two-way feedback on business needs to HR COEs and organization.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to Department Leadership Team during growth or transformation.
• Lead complex programs across the organization and large-scale transformations.
• Partner with executive leaders to develop change management strategies that build readiness and adoption.
• Consult on escalated issues impacting department heads and organizational design.
