Job summary

Education & Labor Cabinet – Department of Education in Frankfort, KY is seeking a Senior Human Resource Specialist to support KDE HR programs on a hybrid telework basis. The role involves processing personnel actions, payroll, and benefits, with onsite file management and contractor hiring oversight.

Occasional travel may be required as part of the duties. The selected candidate will contribute to KDE’s mission of serving Kentucky’s public schools and districts, under the Education & Labor

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Two years of professional experience in human resource administration.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional support for human resource programs within the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE).
• Reviews and processes personnel actions, payroll and employee benefit documents and conducts audits when required.
• Works with other personnel staff to obtain knowledge of KDE’s org structures and job classifications.
• Uses the MyPurpose system for posting vacancies, updating applicant statuses and submitting MQR requests.
• Manages KDE onsite employee personnel files and archival processes.
• Oversees contracting staff in hiring processes and provides New Employee Orientation.
