Job summary

Aston Carter in New Rochelle, NY seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager (Contract) to serve as the primary HR partner for a 100+ employee multi-state workforce across 16 states. This hands-on role requires independent management of full HR functions including employee relations, recruiting, policy compliance, and HRIS oversight.

Qualifications

• Independent, standalone HR resource with hands-on experience across all HR functions.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state employment laws and worker classification.
• Experience supporting diverse workforce (employees, contractors, sales, admin).
• Proven employee relations and compliance management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR contact for a multi-state workforce across 16 states.
• Provide daily HR guidance to employees and leadership, ensuring consistent policy application.
• Manage employee relations, investigations, and terminations end-to-end.
• Partner with leadership to ensure compliance with employment laws and policies.
• Lead full-cycle recruiting across multiple functional areas.
• Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements and drive timely hiring outcomes.
• Advise on performance reviews, coaching, and employee development.
• Support compensation changes and employment status updates.
• Ensure wage and hour compliance across jurisdictions and leave administration.
• Oversee onboarding for employees and contractors.
• Support and implement HR training initiatives.
• Maintain HRIS data in ADP platforms and reporting.
