Job summary

Amentum seeks a Senior HR Generalist to provide high-level HR support across recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and compliance. Based at the Naval Air Station Fallon, this role partners with managers to foster employee relations, training, and engagement while upholding policies and regulations.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of HR generalist experience, proficiency with Workday/HRIS, and strong communication and confidentiality skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in HR, business administration, psychology, or related field; two years of HR experience may substitute each year of the degree.
• Minimum of five years of well-rounded HR generalist experience with employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution.
• Strong experience in leave management including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and state-specific leaves, plus workers’ compensation coordination.
• Familiarity with HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, and HR analytics.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Track record of handling confidential information with sound judgment and discretion.
• Proficiency in HR tools and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment and hiring: partner with program hiring managers, post jobs, coordinate interviews.
• Onboarding and orientation: manage new hire processing in Workday and benefits enrollment.
• Employee relations: address concerns, mediate conflicts, support sensitive workplace situations.
• Handle complex employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and recommend outcomes.
• Coach managers on performance management, documentation, and communication strategies.
• Collaborate with HR leadership to implement performance management tools.
• Respond to grievances and resolve in line with CBAs.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local laws and CBAs.
• Administer FMLA, ADA accommodations, state leaves, and workers’ compensation.
• Liaise with third-party administrators and corporate office.
• Support HR initiatives including performance reviews, merit increases, training, and benefits open enrollment.
• Leverage Workday and ATS to manage workflows and analyze data.
• Contribute to HR process improvements and HR files maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
