Job summary

City of Houston is seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to provide operational HR support for the Community Services Cluster. The role processes personnel actions via HR One SuccessFactors – Employee Central and maintains organizational management data.

Responsibilities include updating HR records, coordinating with Talent Acquisition and Shared Services, and producing HR metrics and reports. A Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of HR experience are required; some SAP and Office proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Science, Liberal Arts, or related field.
• Three years of related professional HR experience required; substitutions allowed year-for-year with education.
• Experience with HR systems and policy applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides operational and transactional HR support to Community Services Cluster departments.
• Processes personnel actions through HR One SuccessFactors – Employee Central.
• Creates and maintains Organizational Management activities and structure changes.
• Reviews actions for accuracy and coordinates follow-up to prevent delays.
• Maintains HR tracking logs, reports, and deadlines with timely updates.
• Coordinates with HR functions to facilitate requests from start to finish.
• Responds to routine HR questions and provides status updates to departments.
• Conducts HR data reviews to identify discrepancies and supports issue resolution.
• Supports data cleanup and reconciliation across departments.
• Prepares HR reports, metrics, and progress tracking for deadlines and escalations.
• Assists with HR policy development, SOPs, templates, and tracking tools.
• Supports cluster-wide HR initiatives and special projects.
