Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to manage the full employment lifecycle for Texas McCombs staff from the Austin campus. Reporting to the HR Director, you will serve as a trusted advisor and support daily HR operations and strategic priorities.

You will partner with managers to design learning programs, ensure policy compliance, and handle recruitment activities. The role requires a strong HR background, excellent communication, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of progressive HR responsibilities.
• Excellent knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Demonstrated success as a customer service–oriented team player.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to advise staff at all levels.
• Ability to work independently to manage projects, improve processes and lead projects to completion.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Office applications.
• Experience handling confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation, coaching and partnership to Texas McCombs managers on HR operations including performance management, staffing and recruitment activities, and classification reviews.
• Manage approval processes and a high volume of electronic Workday transactions across staff and recruiting lifecycles; review timesheets and coordinate leaves.
• Communicate and administer University policies, respond to employee inquiries, and refer to campus resources.
• Partner with stakeholders to design and deliver manager learning and development programs aligned with strategic goals.
• Support annual staff awards and other HR activities related to faculty and student employment.
• Other duties as assigned.
