Job Description
COMC is seeking a seasoned Senior Human Resources Generalist at our Algona, WA location. This role is a critical onsite partner to managers, directors, and HR peers and plays an integral part in applying HR strategy to business needs. The Senior HR Generalist will drive positive employee experiences, provide consultative HR support, and help shape and implement key initiatives that support our evolving operations. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the HR Business Partner, Operations.
Job Responsibilities
• Establish credibility with both frontline employees and leaders by maintaining visibility, demonstrating follow-through, and delivering results.
• Guide managers through complex performance and behavioral matters by providing clear processes, tools, and recommendations.
• Interpret HR and operational data to make informed, strategic recommendations that align with business needs and improve outcomes.
• Demonstrate strong business acumen by embedding themselves in the operation, actively learning the business, and aligning HR practices with company goals.
• Conduct new hire orientation and manages employee recognition programs.
• Serves as the primary point of contact to managers for performance management resolution and advisory, from documented coaching to termination, including facilitating document review.
• Lead leave management programs and have expert knowledge with FMLA, PFL, PSL, ADA, Pregnancy, COVID-19 leaves, RTW & safety programs.
• Maintain employee data integrity in the HRIS system (Paycom) through management of personnel action forms, relating to the employee’s pay, status, location, access etc.
• Train end users on the HRIS system and drive accountability to timekeeping standards such as timecard approvals, meal and rest break requirements, time off policies, etc.
• Manage service culture efforts by tracking trends, conducting feedback sessions, and taking action to reduce turnover and improve key metrics.
• Plan and execute employee initiatives that enhance engagement and foster collaboration across onsite and remote teams. This includes full-cycle planning: vendor coordination, budgeting, and internal communication.
• Support the administration and execution of key HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leave management, performance and talent development, employee relations, and workplace safety.
• Provide HR support and facilitation of open enrollment, annual review appraisals, feedback outlet programs, benefit enrollment changes, COBRA audits, and more.
• Reinforce best practices and answer employee and manager inquiries about HR programs, policies, and other HR-related items in a timely manner.
• Support safety program coordination, including accident and injury reporting, documentation oversight, and active participation in safety initiatives and committee efforts to maintain a compliant and secure workplace.
• Assist with year-end compliance reporting, represent company in unemployment hearings.
• Stay up to date with regulatory and compliance initiatives and laws.
• Uphold COMC values, quality standards, and exemplify C.A.R.D. culture.
• Be a willing and collaborative partner to support all areas of the organization.
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
• At least 3 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist role or higher.
• High School Diploma/GED; Bachelors degree or higher in a related field of study preferred.
• Proven expertise in employee relations and leave administration.
• At least 2 years of HRIS experience, preferably with Paycom.
• Strong ability to coach managers, resolve issues with empathy and compliance, and apply sound judgment in gray areas.
• Effective at interpreting HR data and making actionable, business-focused recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional relationships and collaborate across teams.
• Strong understanding of compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
• Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, and hands-on work environment.

• Prior experience in a warehouse, retail, or fulfillment environment is highly preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Smartsheet.
• Intermediate Excel skills required.
