Job summary

Tufts Medicine seeks a Vice President of Human Resources for Community Hospitals to provide executive HR leadership across the on-site operations and affiliated facilities. You will partner with hospital presidents, lead HR centers of excellence, and drive people strategies that align with system goals.

You will shape culture, talent planning, succession, and workforce development, while ensuring regulatory compliance and a high-performing, inclusive workplace across the network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Ten (10) years of progressive human resources leadership experience, including at least five years in a senior HR leadership role within a community hospital or a complex health system.
• Experience with large-scale transformation, including cultural change, mergers and acquisitions or system integration with a focus on building a positive, engaged workplace culture.

Responsibilities

• Provides executive HR leadership, strategic direction, and day-to-day oversight of site-specific HR operations.
• Acts as a trusted advisor to the Community Hospital Presidents and senior leadership team on all human capital matters.
• Leads HRBP work across the entity to align HR strategy with operational and clinical goals.
• Onboards and assimilates senior leaders into complex organizations, guiding culture and stakeholder relationships.
• Oversees Employee & Labor Relations and Leave Administration with best practices and compliance.
• Collaborates with Corporate HR COEs to deliver integrated HR solutions.
• Builds relationships with Tufts Medicine site executives and COEs for a consistent culture.
• Champions engagement and belonging initiatives with HR partners.
• Develops talent and succession planning with Talent Management COE.
• Partners with Talent Acquisition to support workforce planning and recruitment.
• Uses workforce analytics to inform decisions and measure HR effectiveness.
• Maintains knowledge of laws and collective bargaining agreements and ensures compliance.
• Leads change management initiatives including restructuring and integration.
• Models Tufts Medicine values of respect, accountability, and excellence.
• Leads organizational design and restructuring to align with priorities and efficiency.
• Supports due diligence and cultural alignment in mergers and affiliations.
