Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Vice President of Human Resources for Community Hospitals to lead HR strategy and operations across multiple sites. This executive role partners with system COEs and hospital leaders to shape culture, workforce planning, and policy execution.

The VP HR will drive organizational design, talent development, labor relations, and change management initiatives, ensuring a people-first approach aligned with Tufts Medicine's mission and values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, OD, Business Admin or related field.
• 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role within a community hospital or complex health system.
• Experience with large-scale transformation, including cultural change, mergers and acquisitions or system integration with a focus on building a positive, engaged workplace culture.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Advanced HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides executive HR leadership, strategic direction, and day-to-day oversight of site-specific HR operations.
• Acts as a trusted advisor to Community Hospital Presidents and senior leadership on all human capital matters.
• Leads and directs the HRBP work across the entity to align HR strategy with operational and clinical goals.
• Onboards and assimilates senior leaders into complex organizations, guiding culture and stakeholder relationships.
• Oversees Employee & Labor Relations and Leave Administration with COEs to ensure compliance and best practices.
• Drives collaboration with Corporate HR COEs (Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits) for integrated HR solutions.
• Builds relationships with Tufts Medicine site executives and COEs to promote a consistent culture.
• Champions engagement and belonging initiatives with HR partners.
• Manages talent development and succession planning with the Talent Management COE.
• Partners with Talent Acquisition COE for local workforce planning and recruitment.
• Uses workforce analytics to inform strategic decisions and drive improvements.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable laws and collective bargaining agreements to ensure compliance.
• Leads organizational design, restructuring, and change management initiatives.
