Job summary

Michigan Medicine seeks an experienced Senior HR Business Partner to lead and mentor a team of HRBPs, delivering high-quality HR services across the health system. You will advise leaders on employee relations, talent management, compensation programs, and workforce planning in a complex, matrixed environment.

The role emphasizes onboarding, policy design, and cross-functional collaboration. The position requires seven years of HR experience, strong analytical skills, and HR certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field; Master’s degree a plus.
• Seven years of progressive HR experience.
• Strong knowledge across HR disciplines: employee/labor relations, talent management, organizational development, compensation and employment law.
• Experience in a fast-paced, matrixed environment; unionized environment preferred.
• PHR/SPHR or other HR certification is a plus.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; experience with HRIS/web tools.
• Ability to interpret HR metrics for business solutions.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor HR Business Partners to improve performance and impact.
• Provide subject matter expertise on complex HR matters across the organization.
• Develop and improve onboarding and training programs for HR Business Partners.
• Lead cross-functional committees and projects to improve processes and policies.
• Drive innovation and operational excellence within HR service delivery.
• Support departments with strategic HR consultation across HR functions.
• Collaborate with HR colleagues and legal to ensure effective service delivery.
• Perform additional duties as needed to meet business objectives.
