Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support NAS HPC security and SSP development. You will help ensure compliance with NPR 2810.1F, NIST SP 800-53 and related guidance across NAS systems, clusters, interconnects, storage, and data resources.

The role requires coordinating with NAS leadership and ISSOs, performing vulnerability assessments, and contributing to security plans, enforcement of guidelines, and risk management for high-performance computing

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure SSP and artifacts comply with NPR 2810.1F, NIST 800-53/53B, FISMA, and NIST HPC Overlay guidance.
• Provide expert consultation on HPC-specific security issues (MPI, GPUs, high-speed interconnects).
• Identify solutions balancing usability with security in large-scale HPC workloads.
• Provide regular HPC-specific data analytics and reporting to leadership.
• Support POA&M development, tracking, remediation for HPC systems.
• Coordinate POA&M resolution across engineering, networking, storage, and operations teams.
• Conduct targeted compliance assessments for large HPC environments and report findings.
• Coordinate with government cybersecurity policies and NASA A&A activities.
• Perform vulnerability scans across HPC assets with GPU-aware methods.
• Report results to NAS leadership and ISSOs.
• Support investigations with NASA SOC and incident response teams.
• Assist RCA investigations and remediation actions related to HPC security.
• Develop policies ensuring HPC systems comply with NASA/government requirements.
• Maintain HPC security expertise by monitoring advisories.
• Communicate HPC threats to facility staff and leadership.
• Coordinate security reviews for HPC IT acquisitions (compute clusters, interconnects, etc.).
