Job summary

Step Up is seeking a Lead Housing Case Manager in Nashville to support the Program Manager and oversee a Housing Support team delivering outreach, housing search/placement and ongoing supports for homeless individuals with mental health and substance use challenges.

The role emphasizes Housing First, Trauma-Informed Care and Motivational Interviewing. Leadership, staff development, and strong HMIS documentation are essential in a dynamic, community-facing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Master’s Degree preferred in human services, counseling or social work.
• 3–5 years of housing/case management with chronically homeless adults required.
• Tennessee Driver’s License with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist Program Manager to hire essential staff, provide feedback and evaluation; coach team in Housing Support services and follow HUD policies.
• Attend and represent Step Up at meetings with community stakeholders and provider agencies.
• Supervise case managers, oversee staff productivity, service provision and documentation in HMIS.
• Provide coverage for Program Manager as assigned.
