Senior Hotel Property Accountant - Multi-Property Growth

Job summary

GLMG Hotels is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to oversee accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of hotels. You will ensure accuracy across the organization, manage monthly closes, prepare financial statements, and reconcile balance sheets and payroll.

You will also prepare tax filings for state and local taxes, coordinate with the external CPA, and support budgets, audits, and process improvements within the in-house accounting team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 4+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Hotel or hospitality accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience preparing and filing state/local taxes (sales/use/lodging/occupancy) preferred.
• Multi-property or multi-entity accounting experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, AP, AR, accruals, and cash reconciliation.
• Experience with hotel accounting systems and PMS/POS systems preferred.
• M3 experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly close process for assigned hotels.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.
• Complete bank reconciliations and research outstanding items.
• Reconcile cash deposits, credit card activity, and merchant settlements.
• Reconcile PMS and POS revenue to the general ledger.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, and reclassifications.
• Review general ledger activity and identify unusual transactions or coding issues.
• Maintain and reconcile accounts receivable and assist with collection follow-up.
• Review accounts payable activity and ensure expenses are recorded accurately and in the proper period.
• Reconcile payroll activity and related balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare tax filings for sales, use, lodging, occupancy, and local taxes for assigned properties.
• Maintain a tax filing calendar for all properties and jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with outside CPA firm on tax filings and other matters.
• Maintain fixed asset and prepaid schedules.
• Assist with annual budgets and forecasts.
• Collaborate with General Managers and leadership to resolve accounting questions.
• Identify discrepancies and internal control concerns and communicate findings.
• Help develop standardized accounting procedures across GLMG portfolio.
