Job summary

TPG Hotels & Resorts in Wilmington, NC seeks a Chief Engineer to oversee maintenance and operation of all building systems in our hotel. You will lead a team, plan preventive maintenance, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance to deliver safe, comfortable guest experiences.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or facilities management, hospitality-focused experience, strong knowledge of building codes, budgeting skills, and flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, codes, and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Budgeting and cost control expertise.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when needed

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute a preventive maintenance program for hotel systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural elements.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and prioritize repairs.
• Recruit, train, and supervise a team of maintenance staff.
• Budget management and cost control in the maintenance department.
• Oversee renovations and projects, coordinating with architects, contractors, and suppliers.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, equipment manuals, and warranties.
• Generate reports on maintenance and repair expenses for management.
• Ensure that maintenance issues reported by guests are resolved promptly.
• Ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations and oversee safety inspections.
