Job summary
Grand Hyatt San Francisco seeks a Chief Engineer to supervise daily maintenance and repair of hotel facilities and systems. You will provide hands-on technical leadership for preventive maintenance, work orders, life-safety readiness, and inter‑department coordination to ensure uptime and guest comfort.
The role requires a strong background in hotel facilities, union environment leadership, and a proactive approach to safety and reliability.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in hotel, commercial building, or facilities maintenance.
- Ability to lead in a union environment and follow CBAs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and prioritization under high occupancy.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and work order systems.
- Flexible schedule including weekends/holidays and on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee repairs and maintenance for guestrooms, public spaces, and building systems.
- Support HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety maintenance.
- Lead maintenance teams and ensure contract compliance.
- Coordinate with departments to ensure uptime and guest comfort.
