The ideal candidate brings progressive finance leadership in hospitality, oversees accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, and partners with hotel leadership and university stakeholders to drive performance and operational decisions.

Qualifications

• Progressive accounting or finance leadership experience.
• Hospitality, hotel, conference center experience preferred.
• Previous Controller/Accounting leadership roles.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting skills.
• Ability to explain why financial results change.
• Business judgment and operational mindset.
• Partner with department leaders outside Finance.
• People-management and development skills.
• Self-motivated with ownership mindset.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• High accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
• Comfortable with sophisticated stakeholders in a client-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial and accounting function for the hotel and conference center.
• Partner with hotel leadership to assess financial performance and trends.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and results.
• Explain business reasons behind variances and trends.
• Help department leaders understand impact of operations on financials.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and planning.
• Maintain strong controls and accounting standards.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting and timely reporting.
• Collaborate with stakeholders including university clients.
• Identify risks, opportunities, and improvement areas.
• Develop processes for accountability and sound decisions.
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting/finance team.
• Operate independently with senior leadership communication.
